I began my career in the mortgage industry in 1979,
initially as an agent, then as a wholesale lender representative.
Today, I am the National Sales Manager at Union Federal Bank. Among
my most interesting experiences during this journey was my introduction
to Preferred Financial.
In the late 1990’s, one of Preferred Financial’s
competitors suggested that I contact them and establish a business
relationship. (The competitor had begun his career in the industry
as a wholesale lender representative and, as such, had worked with
Preferred Financial. He had nothing but praise for the company.)
When I met Anthony, the owner of Preferred Financial,
he quickly validated all that I had previously heard. It was clear
that his was a company with which we wanted to do business. Anthony
insisted on meeting with members of our wholesale staff before committing
to anything. I offered to fly him to our offices in Indiana, but
he declined, preferring instead to go back on “his dime”.
Since that visit, we have funded well over a billion dollars worth
of loans for Preferred Financial.
Again, while my introduction to Preferred Financial
remains one of my most interesting business experiences, my involvement
with them over the years has made it one of my most positive.
