Mark McBride

Born and raised in Oakland, California, I graduated
from Bishop O’Dowd High School in 1971. Shortly thereafter,
I began working as a carpenter until 1980 when an opportunity to
become associated with the elevator industry arose. I accepted the
position and began what was ultimately an 11-year career in the
industry. From an hourly rate standpoint, the elevator industry
paid extremely well. However, what made it even more appealing was
the fact that long hours were available for those who wanted them.
In my case, as in the cases of many of my co-workers, we took advantage
of this opportunity and made substantial amounts of money. As fate
would have it, many of my co-workers began dabbling in real estate,
which, in 1986, ultimately led me to becoming a licensed real estate
agent and later a licensed broker. Initially, I assisted my co-workers
with their real estate endeavors and subsequently became a real
estate investor myself.
After much success in the real estate industry, I
chose to make it my full time career in 1992. That year, I joined
Preferred Financial, a mortgage brokerage company owned by a very
close childhood friend. My decision to join the company was perhaps
the most important career decision I have ever made. With a company
philosophy which places the clients wellbeing above all else, Preferred
Financial has given me an opportunity to develop a wonderful client
base that repeatedly utilizes my services for their real estate
financing needs and continue to pass my name on to others they know.
To date, I have originated well over $250,000,000 residential loans
for my clients and look forward to adding to this by continuing
to service my existing clients as well as those that they refer
to me.
Respectfully,
Mark McBride
