Mike Santich

My initial association with “Preferred Financial” goes back to my childhood days, growing up in West Oakland. Anthony Bilich, owner of Preferred, and I are first cousins. Anthony also grew up in West Oakland and we have shared many good times over the years. This is not an unusual occurrence at Preferred, where many of the staff are former schoolmates and clients, friends and family members. My son Tim is an agent with us, as well as a teacher in the Pleasanton School District.

I taught and coached at the high school level in Castro Valley for 31 years, retiring in 1998. I officially joined Preferred in 1997 on a part-time basis and the rest, as they say, is history.

Drawing on my background of teaching and coaching, I feel very comfortable now educating adults. Understanding the many financial options available today is key to making informed decisions which are consistent with our clients’ individual goals and objectives.
